3DEXPERIENCE has three-tier architecture which is as follows
1.Client Tier
2.Resource Tier
3.Database Tier
Client Tier
This tier consist of client applications like rich client CATIA, DELMIA etc and thin client application like Enovia. This tier communicates with resource tier via HTTPS protocol and via reverse proxy.
Resource Tier
This tier consists of all the applications and other server component resources. Mail servers and federated search services are also present here. Collaboration and different application servers are installed on this tier. This used to send and receive communication from client tier and database tier via HTTPS protocol
Database Tier
This tier used to create the data directories which has database application and physical storage location called store in 3DEXPERIENCE. Oracle, MS SQL Server or IBM DB2 can used to install database applications. One can define single or multiple store as per the requirements. Databases and stores directly communicate with MCS application server.
